Leroy J. Harstad, age 90, Army WWII Veteran, Purple Heart recipient, entered into eternal rest on Veterans Day, November 11, 2014 in Chicago, IL.  Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Leonard) and Ruth (nee Franklin).  Loving father of Lee (Ginger) Harstad and Renee Schmidt.  Proud grandfather of Michelle Simonsen, Lee Harstad, Kyle Harstad, Robert Schmidt, Rebecca (Derek) Schmidt-Danker, Paul Schmidt, Matthew Schmidt and Rachel Schmidt.  Great grandfather of Ethan, Tyler, Mason, Joshua, Dillon, Noah and Colten.  Cherished brother of Arlene "Micki" (James) Fogarty, the late Grace (the late George) Blystone, Beverly (the late James) Krisik and Robert Harstad.  Also nieces and nephews of the Varco, Blystone, Krisik and Harstad families.  Retired 39 year employee of Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad.  Funeral Monday, 11:00 a.m. at RICHARD J. MODELL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 5725 S.
