Daniel C. Lukensmeyer

Daniel “Dan” C. Lukensmeyer, was born August 17, 1943 and was joined by close friends and family as he passed on March 6, 2022.  Dan was a beloved father to Danny (Katie), adoring grandfather to Gavin, and former spouse/life long friend to Cathy.  Dan was welcomed into eternal life by his best friend John “Smokey” Twardowski, mother Sally Lukensmeyer, and her partner George Schworles. 

Dan attended Marmion MIlitary Academy where he was the captain of the National Championship Rifle Team, and University of Illinois Chicago, where he was an accomplished baseball and football player.  Dan was a 37 year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, a Field Training Officer, and well-known within the police community. Dan had countless friends whom he considered family, and will be long remembered as “one of a kind.”  Dan’s legacy will be carried on through endless unforgettable memories and stories from those who knew him best. 

Visitation is Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Richard Modell Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 5725 S. Pulaski Rd. Chicago, IL. 60629 from 2:00 until 6:00p.m. Following visitation, friends and family are invited to share memories of Dan over food and drinks at a nearby establishment.  

Family and friends will gather for a Graveside Service March 11, 2022 1:00 p.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery (4401 W. 111th St. Chicago, IL. 60655)
